Amazonite with its calming mint-green to aqua shades, is often called the stone of truth, honour and communication. Known for promoting inner peace and balance, Amazonite is said to ease negativity and anger whilst aligning the physical and astral bodies. Associated with both the throat and third eye chakras, this stone is believed to enhance intuition, creativity and intellect, as well as encourage clear communication.
Mala beads are embedded in both Buddhism and Hinduism and have been used to focus the mind during meditation and to help when counting mantras.
Traditionally Mala contains 108 beads, the centre marker is known as the guru stone, it symbolises gratitude and reminds us of our connection with the divine. Malas are used for keeping count while reciting, chanting or mentally repeating a mantra or the name or names of a deity. This sadhana (practice) is known in Sanskrit as japa.
